For families
Your school's update, on your phone.
Your child's school sent a link or QR code so you can read the updates it shares with you. You do not need an Evident account, a paid plan or an app.
Open the link your school sent
Tap the link in the school's message, or scan the QR code with your phone's camera. Check the child's name before reading or signing. The link is for that child's record, so keep it private.
If the page cannot load, check your connection and use Try again when it is offered. If it says the link is no longer available, ask the teacher or school to send a new one. Creating an account will not repair the link.
Choose the language you want to read
Use the language control near the top of the family page. You can switch between English and the language prepared for the chart. Your choice is remembered on this device.
If the language you need is not offered, or a translation is unclear, ask the school. Translated routine updates help you follow the day; they do not replace the school's interpreter or language-access arrangements.
Read, sign or send a question
The page shows the chart and updates staff have chosen to share. A day with no entry does not mean a goal was missed. Ask the teacher if you are unsure what a goal, mark or absence means.
If your link allows signing, open today's chart, choose Sign and follow the instructions. Some schools require a PIN they give you. Check for confirmation before closing the page.
If your link allows replies, use Send a note to the teacher or the question controls on a shared update. Look for confirmation that it was sent. A signature records that you reviewed the update; you can still ask the teacher a question.
If you have more than one child
Use the separate link the school sent for each child. Check the name each time you open a chart. A link for one child does not open a sibling's record. Ask the school for a missing link rather than forwarding another child's.
When the technology gets in the way
For a page that will not load, a button that does not work or another technical barrier, contact Evident with the device, browser and what you tried. Do not send student names, screenshots of private records, the family link or a PIN in your first message.
For a new link, a PIN, another child's access or a question about an update, contact your teacher or school directly.
