What happens to my data if I downgrade or my trial ends

Your student charts, logs, and evidence are never deleted when a plan changes. Here is exactly what stays, what gets gated, and how to get full access back.

Quick answer
  • Nothing is deleted on downgrade or at trial end.
  • Students, daily logs, charts, and evidence packets remain in your account.
  • Pro-only features, like new PDF exports, are gated until you re-upgrade.
  • Re-upgrading restores full access immediately, with no re-entry of data.
  • If you are mid-meeting and need an export, upgrade first or contact us.

The short version: Evident does not delete your data when you downgrade or when a trial ends. Your students, daily logs, charts, and evidence stay in your account. What changes is access to certain Pro features until you upgrade again.

Your evidence is never deleted

This is the part teachers worry about most, so we want to be direct: a plan change does not erase your work. When a trial ends or you move to a lower plan, your students, daily logs, goal data, and saved evidence packets stay exactly where they were.

We treat your daily evidence as records you may need to defend later. Deleting it because of a billing change would defeat the entire point of the product. So we do not.

What gets gated instead

Rather than removing data, a downgrade gates access to Pro features. In practice that means you can still see your existing charts and history, but certain actions, like generating a fresh PDF progress report or building a new evidence packet, are paused until you upgrade.

You will also drop back to the student and chart limits of the lower plan for anything new. Existing records above that limit are not destroyed; you simply will not be able to add beyond the limit until you upgrade again.

Getting full access back

Re-upgrading is the whole fix. The moment you move back to Pro or a paid plan, the gated features turn on again and your previous students, charts, and logs are right where you left them. There is no import step and no re-entry.

Because the data sat untouched while you were on the lower plan, nothing is reconstructed. The history is continuous, which matters when a progress report needs to show a full reporting period.

What to do before you downgrade

If you have a meeting coming up, generate the PDF progress reports or evidence packets you will need before you change plans. A saved or downloaded PDF is yours to keep regardless of plan, so export the artifacts you know you will reference.

If you have already downgraded and find yourself needing an export for a meeting that is happening now, the fastest path is to upgrade again. If that is not possible in the moment, contact us and we will help you reach the records.

Frequently asked questions

Will my students disappear if my trial ends?

No. Trial expiration gates Pro features but does not delete students, logs, or evidence. Everything is still there when you upgrade.

Can I still see old charts after downgrading?

Yes. You retain visibility into your existing charts and history. The gated piece is generating new Pro-only exports, not viewing what you already have.

Do I lose anything by re-upgrading later?

No. Re-upgrading restores full access instantly and your data is continuous, so a progress report can still cover the full reporting period.

How do I save evidence in case I downgrade?

Export the PDF progress reports and evidence packets you care about while you are on a paid plan. A downloaded PDF stays with you no matter what plan you are on.
