Evident runs in your phone's browser with the same account and students you use on a computer. For quick notes during class there is a Quick capture button, and notes saved while you are offline sync when you reconnect.
Open Evident on your phone
Sign in at evidentk12.com in Safari, Chrome, or your usual browser. Everything you log appears on the computer too, because it is the same account.
To open it in one tap, add it to your home screen: in Safari use Share, then Add to Home Screen; in Chrome use the menu and Add to Home screen or Install app. It then opens full screen like an app.
Use Quick capture
The round + button in the bottom corner opens Quick capture. Choose the student, type what happened, tap a goal chip if it relates to one, and save. It takes a few seconds and keeps you out of the full student page.
Daily chart marks and IEP data points can also be entered from the phone: open the student, then the Behavior chart tab for Met or Not Met, or the Goals tab and Record on a goal card.
When the Wi-Fi drops
If the phone is offline when you save in Quick capture, Evident keeps the note on the device and shows Saved offline for the student. A small badge on the + button counts notes waiting to sync, and they send when the connection returns.
Evident does not store its pages on the device, on purpose, because school devices are often shared. Open it while you have a connection; the offline safety net covers the notes you save after that. Signing out clears anything stored on the device.
Keep it quick in front of students
A short tap to save a note reads very differently from a long stretch looking at a phone. Capture a few words in the moment and add detail later from a computer if it matters.
If you cannot log discreetly right then, make a mental note and log at the next break. Supervision comes first.

What works offline?

Will phone entries match my computer?
Yes. It is the same account and the same students, so entries show up everywhere once they sync.
I share a school tablet. Is that safe?
Sign out when you finish. Evident does not cache student pages on the device, and signing out clears any notes still waiting to sync.
