- Open the student, go to the Behavior chart tab, then Settings, and find the Parent Access Links card.
- Choose New Link, give it a label such as Mom's phone, and Create Link.
- Use Show QR code to display or print it, or Copy link for email or your school's messaging app.
- Revoke this link (under More actions) stops it immediately; create a new link to replace it.
- Make one link per household so you can revoke one without affecting the other.
A Parent Access Link opens the family portal for one student. Families scan the QR code or tap the link and see the chart in their language, with no account, password, or app.
Create the link
Open the student's page, select the Behavior chart tab, then its Settings section, and use the Parent Access Links card. Choose New Link, enter a label, and Create Link. Unlabeled links are called Parent Access, so a label like Dad, Grandma, or Weekly folder saves confusion later.
The Share Student option on the student card is different: it shares the student with another teacher, not with a family.
Manage links over time
Each link shows when it was created, when it was last used, and how many times it was opened. If a link reaches the wrong person or a family situation changes, use Revoke this link. The link and any printed QR code stop working, and revoked links are collapsed under a revoked links count.
There is no rotate action. Revoke the old link and create a new one.
Common mistakes
Reusing one link for two households: make a separate labeled link for each, so you can revoke one without the other.
Forgetting a printed code: a QR code on a folder keeps working until you revoke the link behind it. If a folder is lost, revoke and reprint.
Posting a link somewhere shared: each link opens one student's portal, so treat it like that student's information and send it only to that family.

Does a parent need an Evident account?
No. The link opens the family portal directly, with no app or login.
Can families sign the chart from the link?
Yes. Every Parent Access Link lets the family sign the day's log. You can require a four-digit Parent PIN in the chart editor.
Which language will the family see?
The chart's Target Language, set in the chart editor's Family language section. The portal also offers English.
A QR code I printed last semester still works. Is that a problem?
It works because the link is still active. If you are not sure where the paper went, revoke the link and print a new one.
Can I see whether a family opened the link?
Each link shows when it was last used and how many times it was opened. For confirmation of a specific day, look for the family's signature on that day's log.
