- Archive Student (student card menu) removes a student from your active roster and keeps all history.
- Archived students are listed under Archived students at the bottom of the roster, where you can restore them.
- Transfer Student moves a student to another teacher in the same organization, with the full history.
- Delete Permanently erases the student and every log, and cannot be undone.
- To give a colleague access without giving up the student, use Share Student instead.
Students move, caseloads change, and sometimes a record is created by mistake. Archive and Transfer keep the student's logs; Delete Permanently erases them.
Archive a student
From the student card menu choose Archive Student and confirm. The student leaves your active roster, and their charts, logs, and goals stay attached to the record.
Archived students appear in the Archived students section at the bottom of the roster. Restore brings a student back with everything intact.
Transfer a student to another teacher
From the student card menu choose Transfer Student, enter the New Teacher's Email, and choose Confirm Transfer. The student and their history move to that teacher, who continues logging from the last entry.
The receiving teacher must already have an Evident account in the same organization as you. Transfers are made by the teacher who added the student. Tell the receiving teacher before you transfer so there is no gap in logging.
When to delete permanently
Delete Permanently removes the student, their charts, and every log. It is right for a test student or a record created in error that has no real data. For a student who has moved on, archive instead.

Can I transfer a student to a teacher at another school?
Only if you both belong to the same Evident organization. Otherwise, the other teacher needs to add the student on their own account.
What is the difference between sharing and transferring?
Sharing gives a colleague access while you keep the student. Transferring hands the student over completely.
Can I undo Delete Permanently?
No. That is why archiving is the right choice whenever you are unsure.
